– Our first hello to Kyoto –
From the ancient capital of the West to that of the East.
From Ghazni, Afghanistan to Kyoto, Japan.
文明の十字路アフガニスタンからやってきた光の絨毯 Ghaznin-ガズニン。10～11世紀に栄えたガズニ州 （ガズニー）は、歴史的に重要な政権（ガズナ朝）の首都であり、10～11世紀には政治・軍事・文化の中心として大いに繁栄しました。特にマフムード・ガズナヴィーの時代には、イスラム世界の文化的中心地の一つとされ、学者や詩人が集まる国際的な都市でした。現在は当時の栄華は失われていますが、遺跡や建築物（マフムードの霊廟や古代のミナレットなど）が残っており、歴史的価値の高い都市＝古都と呼ぶにふさわしいと言えます。この度、Ghznin京都店7月のオープンに向けて、9日間のPOPUP 展を開催いたします。是非この機会に、美しいガズニン絨毯をごゆっくりご覧くださいませ。

The city of Ghazni flourished in the 10th–11th centuries as the capital of the Ghaznavid Empire, serving as a major hub of politics, military power, and culture. During the reign of Mahmud of Ghazni, it became one of the cultural centers of the Islamic world, attracting scholars and poets from across regions. Though its past glory has faded, the city still preserves historical sites such as ancient minarets and Mahmud’s mausoleum—making it worthy of being called an ancient capital.
